South East of England Wing Chun

Tributes and Acknowledgements

Grandmaster Samuel Kwok
I have known Adie Gray for the past 10 years, he trained under 1 of my students at first then asked me to continue his journey into the Ip Family Wing Chun.

I re - graded Adie from Siu Lim Tao - Instructor level during 2000.

Over the past 10 years I have found him to be dedicated, honourable , talented and extremely loyal this is the main reason we have become the best of friends within Wing Chun and personal life.

This is why i have put pen to paper for this acknowledgement and let my inner feelings known these words come from my heart.

Adie has developed good Wing Chun skills & has assisted me on numerous occasions when we have been invited overseas to demonstrate Ip Man Wing Chun in Hong Kong and Europe.

In addition Adie adheres to the Wing Chun code and lives by it. He is a family man & provides a helping hand whenever requested.

There are many martial artist out there but Adie is a true warrior / fighter I have seen this with my own eyes this is why he is part of my family and i gave him the family name of Kwok Chung Yong.

I have no hesitation in recommending Adie and I am sure those who train Ip Man WIng Chun under him wont be disappointed.

Best Wishes

Your Sifu and Friend

Adie came to vist us in Ireland a few times, I find him a very honorable and trustworthy man.

He's a great friend of my son Tyrone.  I watched them both training in my yard, there style of fighting is
very unique.

Adie can be my bodyguard anytime ha ha and he is always welcome to my home, my door will always be open to him and his family.  Adie is old school and people like us is unfortunatly a dying breed.

Be lucky my son and you dont need me to remind you, keep your guard up and your chin down

I met Adie just over a year ago in Hong Kong through our Sifu Samual Kwok. We bonded straight away and formed a great friendship. It was good to meet someone as crazy as me. At 5am every morning we'd be up in the mountain training. I thought that we'd be the only ones there at that time in the morning but I then realised that most Chinese people must be kinda mad too, as the mountain was crowded with people doing Ti Chi.

Adie helped me to develop my Wing Chun and we shared our other fighting skills together. I've been in the fight game since the age of 4 with my Dad, Paddy Monaghan teaching me, so Ive came across many fighters in my life but only a few will stay fixed in my mind, Adie is one of these few. I like his style of fighting and philosophy of life.

Adie is a family man and he values his lovely wife and child and he values his friends to a high degree.

Adie is a human form of Yin Yang, he's soft hearted but also a hard bastard, he'll give you the last crumb from his mouth but you know not to mess with him.

Adie to me is a true friend and he has proved that to me many times.

God Bless ya Adie, be lucky bro.

Dear Adie

Please let me take this opportunity to say I am truly proud and honoured to call you my Wing Chun Kung Fu brother. It is with the greatest respect that I would just like to say Adie you scare me man! Ha! Ha!

For anyone looking for a Wing Chun Instructor I whole heartedly recommend Sifu Adrian Gray. He is without a doubt one of the most talented knowledgeable Martial Arts expert’s; I have ever had the pleasure of training with.

He has a serious no nonsense approach to his work, teaching and training; He is a fighter and someone you would rather have as a friend but not as an enemy. He is also incidentally one of the nicest friendly guys you could ever wish to meet.

Yours sincerely,

Stephen Rigby,
Chief Instructor, Preston Wing Chun.

Adie Gray is fine gentleman who is physical strong but mild in character.

Although he is already an expert in many self defence techniques, he still carries a humble heart and learns Wing Chun Kung Fu from our Sihing Master Samuel Kwok.

We believe that Adie has received coaching on the right path of Wing Chun.

From our gatherings in Hong Kong, Adie has demonstrated that he could well exhibit Wing Chun technique and with good explanation. Besides, he never hesitates to share his rich knowledge in self defence techniques with us.

We truly believe that Adie is a good Sifu.

We wish Adie all the best in his teaching of Wing Chun Kung Fu.

Adie I met for the first time in Hong last year! In the two weeks in Hong Kong and China, I learned to know Adie as a really good friend.

In November last year Adie came with my Sifu for a seminar in Germany. All participants were enthusiastic.
Adie is one of the best fighters I know and a true friend!

I am very proud to be allowed to say: Adie's my Kung Fu brother.
He is an outstanding man and a really good teacher!

Adie, you are the man!

I met Adie in Hong Kong 2008 whilst on a training trip with Grandmaster Samuel Kwok. When we practiced Chi Sao for the first time it was as though we had trained together for years and I thought then, as I do now, that Adie is a true gentleman and a skilful warrior.

One year later we met in Hong Kong again and it was a great pleasure to train by his side and to learn from his vast experience.

Adie is one of the greatest martial artist I have met. He is a good friend and a fantastic teacher who always puts his students needs first. He is a great Wing Chun man with brilliant, intelligent fighting ability.

I am very pleased and honoured to be in the company of such great fighters in paying tribute to Adie. I wish him all the best in all that he does.

Adie has a wealth of knowledge in the martial arts and personal training, and i would recommend anyone wishing to learn Ip Man Family Wing Chun Kung Fu to go along to his classes.

He teaches in a friendly manner and applies the techniques in a realistic manner.

He is involved in teaching martial arts to children via Sport England, and my teacher, Grandmaster Kwok’s recommendation of Adie, demonstrates how highly he is thought of as a person and a martial artist.

Kind regards

I knew Adie two years ago. When he came to HK with my SiHing Samuel Kowk, SiHing Kwok introduced me to Adie.

We always practiced Chi Sao when Adie in HK. He is in pursuit of and practices Ving Tsun. He is a good Combat fighter and Self-defense expert.

He is a nice gentleman and likes to share his Ving Tsun knowledge to everyone.
I am very pleased and happy to know him. I wish you to continue chasing higher level of Ving Tsun and to be a Ving Tsun warrior.

God Bless, my good friend
